Rohtak, December 5: Jagmati Sangwan is the best candidate for the post of Mayor who has been raising her voice for the pro people issues. All  mayors  in the past have proved to be a substance who had no concern for the people's problems. This was stated here today by Brinda Karat, the CPM politburo member and former MP, while speaking at an election rally in support of Jagmati Sangwan on the occasion of filing her nomination.


An impressive Roadshow was organised through the main bazaars of the city, which has warmly received by the bystanders. Jagmati  expressed confidence that if we go by the support of the people, she will surely win. Jagamati made a scathing attack on the BJP for worst situation of law and order as a result of which people and women are feeling insecure and made to live in fear. Most of the colonies are not getting safe drinking water she alleged. Corruption was all pervasive in the Corporation and resources were being plundered. She assured that with the support of people she will put an end to it and ensure transparency. We will make provision for ward sabhas for grass root involvement of the ordinary citizens.


CPI(M) state secretary Surender Singh said that the ruling BJP has nominated a capitalist for the post of Mayor. He  assured  that we shall provide transparency in the Corporation functioning. He said that although Jagmati is contesting on CPI(M) symbol but she is a candidate of the people . He hoped that we will succeed in liberating the Corporation from the strangle hold of real estate sharks.


Others who spoke included a well known social worker Capt. Shamsher Singh Malik, 2+5 Jan Andolan Convenor Advocate Satyavir Singh Hooda,  Inderjit Singh, Vinod Deswal, Sanjeev, Sumit, Principal(retd.) Mahabir Sharma .
