Kolkata , February 10 : TMC MLA Satyajit Biswas of Krshnagung of Nadia district was gunned down yesterday evening in a surprising manner in a programme organised during Saraswati Puja in his own assembly constituency. Although many of the local TMc bigwigs were present during the event , only, the MLA died in bullet injury after the inauguration of the programme. The MLA who earlier known to have close proximity with with former TMC minister turned BJP leader Mukul Roy , according to sources report ,was on the verge of switching side to the BJP.
Her Family members has complained that not TMC infighting , but the leader was killed as he had already switched side to BJP from Trinamool and was a BJP worker, now. However no former announcement of the slain MLA’s change of side , was known to media, previously.
It has alleged , that apart from internal rivalry of TMC , connections with illegal cow smugglers , in the border area of Bangladesh , where the assembly constituency is situated might be behind this nefarious killing.
CPI(M) State Secretary Surya Mishra has said that not only the opposition party workers, but even the TMC workers and leaders are unsafe during the TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee’s reign in the state. Condemning strongly, the brutal murder of a elected representative in broad daylight, he has called for immediate arrest of the culprits. He added that though he was not known to him personally, however his condolences are for the bereaved family members of the deceased.
