Lakhs of Peasants’ and workers given arrest
across the country on the “Jail Bharo” call of AIKS.




New Delhi, Aug 9 : On the Quit India movement day-2018 the call of Jail Bharo given by All India Kisan Sabha which was actively supported by CITU and many other organizations was huge successes.  lakhs of  peasants and workers given arrest across the country along with the all India and state leadershipagainst the anti peasantry polices of Narandra Modi Government. This Jail Bharo was organized countrywide in around four hundred Districts.


The struggle on Quit India Day denotes the importance of fight against imperialist-driven pro-corporate economic policies known as neo-liberal reforms that are being intensified by the rabidly communal Narendra Modi Government. The agrarian crisis is further deepening and numbers of present’s suicides are increasing every day. Only pro-peasant and pro-working class alternative policies can make change in this scenario.


Before this jail, Bharo as per the call of collecting 10 crore signatures

of peasants from entire country crores of signatures have been collected. The movement was around these demands of peasantry: Complete liberation from all kinds of debt for the toiling peasants and agricultural workers, Ensure legal guarantee of MSP of one and a half times the cost of production for all agricultural produce as


recommended by Swaminathan Commission and reduction in input costs, Immediate vesting of land in the name of the tillers and implementation of the Forest Rights Act, Pension of Rs.5,000 per month to all agricultural workers, poor and middle peasants, Implement pro-farmer Comprehensive Crop Insurance Scheme covering all crop and income losses and ensure family health Insurance as well as insurance for animals.


AIKS president Ashok Dhawale has given arrest in Dahanu District Palghar of Maharashtra. AIKS General Secretary Hannan Mollah , CITU General Secretary Tapan sen, CITU Secretary A R Sindhu along with other leaders and activists given arrest at parliament street, New Delhi. AIKS Finance secretary P Krishnaprasad given arrest in Bhiwani of Haryana. AIKS Joint secretary N K Shukla was arrested in Muzaffarpur and Vijoo Krishnan attended program at Palakkad in Kerala. Other national and state leaders were also participated in this Jail Bharo. Solidarity with this call of AIKS was already been declared by CITU, Indian Ex Sevicemen Movement, All India Ambedkar Mahasabha, AIDWA, SFI and others. AIKS congratulates peasants-workers for their historical countrywide Jail bharo and also gives call more intensify the struggles of working class.


Jail Bharo in Punjab

Chandigarh, August  9: There was unprecedented response to the Jail Bharo Andolan programme in Punjab . Thousands of peasants , Agricultural workers,  Scheme workers, contract workers, MNREGA workers,  Industrial workers, participated in the agitation. Workers marched through bazars of District towns all over Punjab , held rallies and offered themselves for arrest. AIKS, AIAWU and CITU spearheaded the movement in  Punjab .  A large  number of women workers  participated in this militant action. The leaders of Punjab  gave a  call to mobilise more than 50, 000 peasants, Agricultural workers and industrial , contract,  Scheme workers  for 5th Sept. Mazdoor Kisan Sangharash rally in front of the parliament.

Comrade Sukhwinder Singh Sekhon , General Secretary, AIKS & State Secretary, CPI(M) went on a whirlwind tour and  addressed massive rallies  at Ludhiana, Barnala and Sangrur . Comrade Raghunath Singh , General Secretary, CITU Punjab addressed rallies at Ropar and Hoshiarpur. Comrade Bhoop Chand Channo led the workers at Sangrur. Workers court arrests under the leadership of  Com. Major Singh Bhikhiwind at Tarntaran. Comrade Lehmber Singh Tagger Singh led a massive procession and rally at Jalandhar.
